At the age of five most of us just listened to what was being played. It was pretty much when we were first exposed to music. Parents, relatives, and friends influenced our music choice.

By the age of 10 many of us have picked up the mainstream media music which was being regularly played on the radio. Dominating the airwaves were the ever so popular boy bands, pop singers, and rappers. It was by this age that many of us were grouped by together with friends that had the same taste in music.

When we reached the adolescent stage of 15, many of us have branched out in search for music that would satisfy our rebellious needs. We wanted music that would express our emotions and believed that the music understood how we felt.

By the ages of 18-21 we solidified our tastes in music. Even though we constantly listen to different bands, the style of music that we listen to now is relatively the same as when we were age 15. It is the same genre whether it be techno or rock and roll. The kinds of music that we listen to now has been influenced by our friends, and we still keep an open mind of different types of music. But it is mostly what we listened to age 15.
