One of the first steps would be how she greatly observed all aspects that are interconnected within the music styles of Americana. With this step, Amanda is trying to discuss the changes or confusions that are seen in this genre of music.

The second step of inquiry that Amanda Petrusian shows in her writing is the idea of how things turn out the way they are. To connect this to the Americana music Amanda asked many necessary questions, for example: What did America look like? What would it sound like? She then explained that Americana is traditional folk music mostly connected with poverty and usually written on an acoustic guitar. By Amanda asking questions and then answering them with details, helps to generate information to get to know the topic of Americana music.

The third step of inquiry that was used very well within this chapter would be the aspect of alternatives and how even other peoples ideas can be valuable keys into unlocking important details in writing. Amanda used the wide Americana history to explain the wonderful style of music that is known as Americana.
