How did Hank Williams affect country music when he was alive and after he was dead?

1 comment:

  1. Hank Williams became country music's big stars with his mixture of honky-tonk and gospel music. He created this new style to music that just blew everyone away. From the way Williams blended his music styles together, others took his idea and spun them in a new way that created the traditional country sound. This sound was a combination of honky-tonk, country, folk, polka, jazz, blues, swing, the drums, horns, piano, and other factors. Williams died at the age of 29 and was found in his baby blue Cadillac in his cowboy boots and beer with his unrecorded song lyrics to "Then Came That Fateful Day."

Even though he's dead, Williams is known to be one of the genre's grandfathers. Hank's music is different from country music today due to the fact that he never expressed exactly what he was feeling in his music. Country singers today write their songs based off of life experiences. William's messages in his songs were linked to the messages that like rock music portray in their music.
