Around age five, the music we would listen to would be the theme songs of our favorite tv shows. Also, we would listen to whatever our parents would listen to. At that age, our taste and outlooks were influenced by everything around us and we didn't have a real sense of our tastes of music. At age 10, we started getting a little bit more particular about the music we listened to and not what our parents listened to. We all listened to mainstream music, groupies, boy bands and shit. Britney Spears was the hottest girl around. Jennifer Lopez was my Jenny from the block. She was what every guy fantasized about. Our personalities and tastes in music were changing and we started figuring out what we liked to listen to and what we disliked.

Around age 15 was the time when everyone went down their own path and listened to simply what they enjoyed whether it was mainstream or not. Our personalities had been developed and we were becoming mature and growing fast. We weren't fully developed in our music taste but 8/9 of the way there. Friends were who influenced your music choice. A lot more different radio stations started coming out playing different types of music, not just mainstream songs. We started downloading music on our computers and to our ipods. We started going to concerts of our favorite artists and bands. Music became a bigger part of our lives than anytime before. The songs we listed described who we are as a person.

Today at the ages of 18-20, we have fully grown and our personalities have completely developed. Mainstream music is not what everyone listens to. Everyone has their own taste in music. Music is a big part of our lives today. The type of music you listen to today, tells a lot about who you are. Now days, we are listening to a lot of old school music. We watch a lot of MTV and the songs they play seem to be real popular for our age group. Lyrics are just as important to us as the beat of the song.
