Elvis was found dead on August 16, 1977, in his upstairs bathroom. Ever since then Graceland has been a monument to him. Graceland is the “second-most-visited home in the nation after the White House, it accepts seven hundred thousand visitors each year and requires five hundred thousand dollars for annual up keep” (57). Even after 34 years he still influences our generation.
Elvis Presley the “King of Rock and Roll” or simply known as the “King” changed the music business completely. He was the face of rock and roll. At that time he was on everything: movies, lunchbox, turkey platters, and toasters. Without Elvis Presley rock and roll may have not happened. Even bands today like U2 look up to Elvis Presley.
