Entry # 1- wolles mutai

In it still moves: lost songs, lost highway and the search for the next American music. Amanda uses observation to find out what Americana is. She went on a trip from Brooklyn, New York to other places of America. The questions that she had, helped her to draw a better conclusion. There is several information that she was able to gather on the way which looked a little bit unnecessary to me. It only made the book wordy. She did not just find out about the origin of Americana, but the changes that it undergoes with time at different places.

Historically, the most successful art seem to have been created from the south. The questions about Americana was totally helpful not only to her but to the reader. This enabled her to use information that she gathers to try and answer the questions. She was so detail and descriptive to what she found out in a particular place.

Amanda Petrusich might have had other ideas about Americana but she was open to other opinion from people and what she found out through observation. With all this ideas incorporated together, she was able to define Americana without being unbiased.
