Amanda Petrusich's book, It Still Moves: Lost Songs, Lost Highways, and the Search for the Next American Music, is a collection of her experience in her trip in the south. She decided to go to the south to find more about Americana music, and the south is known to be the mother of Americana music. She decided to hit the road, traveling along old roads that itself were considered Americana.
How does she go about to share her experiences and findings? In each chapter, she begins to explain her surroundings, items that define that city. With each historic finding comes with history itself. she tends to give a history of each historic figure whether its an item or people.
Through the history she describes Americana Music itself. Petrusich attempts to set a difference between Americana music and the Hillbilly music that we think about today. She intrigues her readers with questions and slowly answers them while absorbing them into americana music.
