Entry #1 - Diem My Le

Amanda Petrusich's book, It Still Moves: Lost Songs, Lost Highways, and the Search for the Next American Music clearly shows us readers what type of author she is. Amanda Petrusich is a very detailed writer. In her writing, she tends to be very detailed with what she sees. For example, she would go into details of what she sees in New York City like the various people in the city or the city itself. She allows readers to specifically see what she is seeing. Not only that, but she is also detailed about what she's doing at the moment by writing about her every movement. When proving a point, she writes descriptively what she means from her point of view.

Petrusich is also a type of writer who ask questions as she explores certain interests. For example, to get more information about Americana music, she first ask questions and try to answer it by exploring different places and gather information from what she experiences or see for herself. In her writing, she also gives examples of people who have the same viewpoint as her. If she is talking about a certain subject, she uses people in her writing as a reference to show that her points are supported by others too.

Amanda Petrusich tends to also provide quotes from other well known people in her writing to prove a point or give an idea to help readers know what she is talking about. Although many quotes she provide are similar to her point of view, she also gives the other side of the quote to let other readers know that her point of view is not always supported. She adds quote to help readers understand what she is saying. She provides her own opinion of what others are saying as well so that it helps readers understand what side she is taking. She present her own opinion of things she hear, what others say, and what she sees.
